Pastor--website-Installation-postingWe are very pleased to announce that our Pastor, The Rev. Carmine Pernini will be officially installed on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 4:00pm.  Our Bishop, The Rev. Tracie Bartholomew will be presiding at the service.

There is a wonderful service planned for this special day.  The guest preacher will be Dr. Timothy Wengert, Professor at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.

Our Music Director, Dr. Brian Dallow will be leading us in the music, and as always sharing his wonderful gift for music in his playing on the piano and organ.

Zion’s choir members will be singing, Luann Albanese, Barbara Brown, Linda Cenci, Gloria Leustek, Kip Palmer and Nancy Jean Wallace.  Also joining the choir for the this special occasion are previous choir members, Kevin Brown, Carolyn Konopi, Dot and Bill Marbach and Carol Meadowcroft.

We will have additional special guests who will be sharing their musical and vocal gifts for this special occasion.   Members of Pastor Pernini’s old seminary band will be playing who were called the “Groove Daemons”.  The musicians who will be present and playing are Dr. Jon Pahl – Saxophone, Rich Mandel – Keyboard, Rev. Rodney Smith – drums, Tamara Anderson – Vocals,  our Pastor, Carmine Pernini – double bass and tentatively Andrew Light – guitar.  What a treat this will be!

Also featuring Jennifer Lampert, a friend of  Dr. Brian Dallow. She was Miss USO 2001 and she sang for the troops all over the world and on several battleships.  She will be lending her beautiful voice to the service.

There will be some great musical features. To name a few;  The hymn “There is a Praise” will have Dr. Pahl playing the sax,  featuring Jennifer Lampert singing the descant, along with our choir singing the verses.  Also, Pastor’s previous seminary band will play “Come Sunday” by Duke Ellington at the end of the service just before the sending hymn.

This will be a wonderful service of installation, worship, preaching, and music.

A reception will be held after the service at the American Legion, 581 Maple Avenue, Rahway.

God has shined a light on Zion.  We are blessed and so grateful!
