Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2015
During the forty days of Lent, we are invited to participate in disciplines of fasting, prayer, and works of love. Ash Wednesday is the solemn day of prayer that marks the beginning of Lent, when we confess our sin in a litany of repentance (turning back to God), receive ashes (the ancient symbol of repentance and a reminder of our mortality), and marked with the cross of Christ, begin our journey through Lent.
Join us for worship at Zion on Ash Wednesday at 12:00 noon and at 7:30 pm on February 18, 2015. If you are unable to attend either service, Pastor Pernini and other area clergy will also be at the Rahway train station on Ash Wednesday, between 6:00 am and 9:00 am, offering prayers and ashes to travelers and passersby.
Saturday & Sunday Worship during Lent
During Lent, our Sunday morning schedule will be modified: there will be just one worship service on Sundays at 10:00 am from February 22 through March 29 (Palm Sunday). There will be no change to our scheduled services on Saturdays at 5:00 pm.
Midweek worship during Lent
Join us also on Wednesdays during Lent for midweek Evening Prayer at 7:30 pm, from February 25 through March 25.
