Worship stands at the center of our life of faith. Through Word and Sacrament, we are nurtured in faith and sent to serve.
When we worship together as a community, there are many people who help to make our common worship experience happen, including:
- sacristans who prepare our worship space (Altar Guild);
- worship assistants who read the lessons, lead prayers, and assist the presiding minister;
- cantors and choir, who lead the congregation in song and inspire with music;
- acolytes who bear the cross in procession and attend to the candles;
- ushers who assist worshipers in the nave;
- greeters who welcome members and visitors alike; and
- midi coordinator and midi operators, who play pre-recorded service music and hymns from time to time.
We encourage everyone in the congregation to participate in these various serving ministries, according to the gifts and talents that God has given to each of us! We especially need more volunteers to serve as sacristans on the Altar Guild, and more worship assistants during the Saturday evening services. We are also looking for a midi coordinator, who is primarily responsible for scheduling the midi players and preparing the midi script.
